'An evening with Graham Fitkin'


The composer and performer who lives in St Buryan with his partner, harpist Ruth Wall,  talks about his music, his performing life, the music that influenced him with recorded illustrations and also about his new commission, 'Humphry Davy', for the Three Spires Singers to be performed in Truro Cathedral in November this year.

The Chapel Street Ensemble was formed in 2021, from professional players based in West Cornwall.


Named after one of the most historic and characterful streets in Penzance, it started life as a piano quartet in 2020, and has been growing ever since, giving two concerts in the 2021 Chapel Street Festival of Chamber Music this summer.


It is a flexible pool of players, which can perform in Trios, Quartets and Quintets, according to promoters’ requirements, and is looking forward to extending its performing base in Cornwall and beyond.

William Howard, pianoforte


William Howard, concert pianist, a founder member of the Schubert Ensemble of London.


This evening, William presents a programme of masterpieces from a Czech piano repertoire with two great works by Chopin and four small contemporary British works.
